Welcome to The Cultus Lake Dragon Boat Club website.

The Cultus Lake Dragon Boat Club heads two teams from Cultus Lake, the Dragonflyers and the Soul Sisters.

Dragon boating is one of the fastest growing water sports in the western world and is a great sport for all ages. A dragon boat team consists of a drummer, a steersperson, and 20 paddlers  to paddle a very long and narrow boat, sometimes adorned with a dragon head, accross a 500 m. stretch of water. It is a lot of fun and great exercise!

The Cultus Lake Dragon Boat Club began when the Dragonflyers Team moved their boat from Harrison Lake to Cultus Lake and consequently sparked the interest of many more local ladies wanting to join in the fun. With enough interest and a boat to share, a second team, the Soul Sisters, was formed.

Both teams prepare for races by practising 2 -3 times per week, rain or shine. They strive for impeccable timing and strength endurance. All they need to compete is a paddle, a life jacket, and an attitude of excellence!

This year,  the Club held their 3rd Annual All Women's Dragon Boat Festival at Cultus Lake to inspire friendly competition amongst teams from all over B.C. Besides some competive racing, there were great raffle prizes and wonderful things to eat. Many local teams, as well as out of town teams, enjoyed a day of racing at one of the most beautiful sites in the province. Hope to see you there next year!
